I grew up visiting my aunt, uncle and grandparents in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They would take me to Old Town and Santa Fe where I would shop for turquoise and silver jewelry. Each trip I had to have a jewelry souvenir. I've always loved jewelry and sometime after college I went to a local bead store, here in Raleigh, North Carolina. After buying some items to put together to make some earrings and bracelets and things, I took a lampworking class to make my own beads. In 2000, I took a metal-smithing class to make my own findings and silver. Today I work mostly with sterling silver and mix in lampworked beads, semi-precious stones and pearls to accent some of my pieces.
